Jesus (Jesse) D. Hernandez  Jr., a.k.a. Major Miles, has first-hand experience of the negative effects of a sedentary lifestyle. Having been diagnosed with high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and borderline diabetes, the doctor ordered a “lifestyle change.” Since that day, Jesse has spent much less time in front of a TV screen and more time racking up miles. He has participated in several 5Ks, 10Ks, half-marathons, and full marathons. His deep passion and hope for the youth of his community has prompted him to join the Mile Strong Kids League of Directors. His two favorite pastimes are exercising and volunteering to help his local school district, San Antonio ISD.
